The SHAHERAZAD AWARD for LITERARY ACHIEVING MUSLIMS (SALAM) is a grant that recognizes Muslims who have or are pursuing literary excellence in the book publishing space. The purpose of the grant is to help alleviate a financial burden that may inhibit the creative process.
We award any number of Muslims, regardless of their previous publishing history, within a year. We do not restrict how the grant is used; you may use it for literary courses or to buy a new phone charger.
SALAM has three grant types: Rainbow, Gold, and Silver, with Muslim writers receiving a monetary compensation of 300, 200, and 100 USD, respectively. Should winners use a non-USD currency, monetary equivalence will be determined at the time of the award's deliverance.
We have the right to allocate the grant however way we wish and to refuse to award any grants despite receiving nominations.
